Hide your Wires
Now this is just plain cool and makes too much sense. It’s one of those ideas that comes along and you smck yourself in the forehead with a “Why didn’t I think of that?”
We all have far too many cables and wires running through our homes. If you’ve moved into an older home and have tried to set up a surround sound system you know what dilemma you face. A) you can have the wires run on the floors, B)run under the carpet (not possible if you do not have a carpet), or C) drill holes and fish wire through the walls and over doors. The first option is ugly. The second may create lumps. The third, well, I guess you’re either going to leave the wiring behind when you sell or are going to patch up holes.
Now there is an option D. Wiretracks has developed an ingenius system wherin you hide the wires and cables behind easy to remove panels of baseboard or crown mouldings. Using this product not only would clean up your install but also enhance your home’s value. Crown mouldings have the highest return on investment. They just look terrific.
I haven’t used this product myself but dig the idea and will be looking into it when I get that insane home theatre I’ve been plotting for years.
