On your 1500/month buy vs rent, I honestly think that a person who can afford to buy can pretty much walk into a competitive rental situation and "win" the rental. I don't see it difficult to get cheap rents. I consistently get below market rentals since the owners know I can pay and they are not sure about the others. I don't know how it could ever be cost effective for me to buy when owners give me below market rents. Great post will.
