The Beasley - Yaletown’s last highrise

It’s the last new Yaletown address, a stylish testimonial to the visionary outlook that’s almost synonymous with the name Larry Beasley. Introducing Amacon’s The Beasley condominium suites in downtown Vancouver’s trendy Yaletown district.
Poised to transform the corner of Smithe and Homer Street, The Yaletown Beasley condominium residences will be a gleaming, 33-storey highrise condo tower that epitomizes the principles of sustainability its namesake believes it so passionately. “The Beasley incorporates all the elements Larry promoted: high-density living, heritage retention, mixed-use design, and reduced reliance on private automobiles,” says Richard Wittstock, vice president of real estate development at the Yaletown Beasley Condo tower. The result is, in a word, spectacular according to the author, Susan Boyce of the New Home Buyers Guide of Vancouver in February 2008.
Love the Lifestyle of Yaletown?
Long considered one of Vancouver’s most desirable neighbourhoods, Yaletown has a character of its own. And The Beasley Condos is a celebration of everything that says: Yaletown in downtown Vancouver. The look is sleek, modern, and stylishly rectilinear – cosmopolitan flair at its finest. Engineered hardwood flooring, the newest KtichenAid Architecture Series appliances in stainless steel, square soaker tubs where you can soak away the cares of the day, these Yaletown Beasley homes designed to satisfy the most discerning, city savvy home purchaser.
Perhaps one of The Beasley condos’ most unique features is the mews-style outdoor courtyard that provides residents with direct access to Yaletown Park and the Vancouver Public Library. “We like to say that at The Beasley, your front yard is Yaletown andyour backyard is Robson Street,” says Nic Jensen, Amacon’s manager of sales and marketing at the downtown Vancouver Beasley condo tower high-rise real estate project. For those who will call the Beasley condos home, it’s one of the many details that make the difference.
And here’s a Yaletown first. Part of the eighth floor garden terrace at the Beasley Condominiums in Yaletown will be a 60-foot dog run surrounded by park benches where home owners can hang out as their four footed companions romp and play together. You’ll find patios like this everywhere in New York and San Francisco,” Richard says. “We know how many people who live downtown own dogs, because we see them walking right outside our office – it’s part of the lifestyle sow we need to accommodate those lifestyle choices. This feature is indicative of downtown Vancouver’s success as a place to live.”
Vision Meets History at the Beasley Condos Yaletown
One intriguing part of The Beasley real estate development fresh outlook on Yaletown is actually steeped in history. The almost iconic Homer Building, where generations have met for coffee or a get-me-on-the-go lunch or breakfast in the Homer Café will soon enjoy a revitalized life. The heritage structure is being restored and will become home to a new breed of contemporary retail, commercial and service outlets at the Yaletown Beasley condominium tower. “We believe mixed-use buildings can create a synergy that’s exciting and environmentally friendly,” Richard says. He talks briefly about the way heat and cooling systems can run in conmplementary modes – the heat from air conditioning offices filled with computer equipment being recycled to supplement the heating needs of the residential suites at The Beasley Yaletown residences – and explains how there will be a green roof above the adjacent office building giving an even more visually appealing overlook of north-facing homes.
But most of all, both Nic and Richard stress The Beasley condos is the last chance to purchase a brand new Yaletown home with the prestige of a Homer Street address. “There is simply no more land available here,” nic says. No wonder he adds that the interest is running high as homebuyers eagerly register for this one, final opportunity of real estate in downtown Vancouver’s Yaletown district.
The Beasley will be located at Smithe and Homer and when complete, will introduce more than 200 homes ranging from one bedroom suites of 575 to 690 square feet to four levels of elegant penthouses and Beasley sub-penthouses boasting up to 1,200 square feet of luxurious living with only three homes per floor.
Update March 6th: Sales start March 15, 2008. Prices start at $395,000 for a 552 Sq.ft. one bedroom without parking. Only Plan H has parking as an option. All other units have at least one parking space. With parking starts at $439,900. 769 Sq.ft. Two Bedrooms start at $608,900.
Interior finishing is very nice with hardwood floors, heated tiled floors in bathrooms, spacious dens (for downtown Vancouver), stone slab countertops extending to the floor, and Kitchenaid appliances. Expected completion is February 2011 and as Amacon is the developer (great name who also completed the fabulous Melville in Coal Harbour, Brava downtown, and Virtu in Kitsilano) they are also the builder and should be able to control construction and completion.
